This Lab is built on a Dell T5610 Server w/ 128GB RAM (Max RAM) + 1TB SSD HD

It includes 2 x Ten-Core Processors.(Xeon E5-2660v2 or higher) with 40 vCPU's

This Server is running VMware ESXi 6.7 with a Permanent Enterprise License.

These are the main technical specifications of this CCIE Security Lab:

- VMware ESXi 6.7 Enterprise Version (Permanent License included)

This Lab actually includes five Virtual Machines, two of which are EVE-NG VMs:

- EVE-NG VM No. 1: built exclusively for the CCIE Security Lab v6.1. (includes Lab Workbook)
- EVE-NG VM No. 2: could be used to built any Lab Topology (includes multiple virtual devices)
- Cisco ISE Server ver 3.1. Includes a 90-Day Demo License, but it can be re-installed forever

- Windows 2019 Server. Can be used as DNS Server or Domain Controller (180-day eval. License)
- Ubuntu Server ver 20.04.2 configured with NSO (Network Services Orchestrator)
- CML-2 ver 2.8.0 (includes Free License for up to 5 Nodes!)

EVE-NG VM No. 1 includes 20 pre-built Lab Scenarios with a Lab Workbook with Solutions

The pre-built Lab Scenarios use the following Virtual Appliances:

- Cisco ISEv (Identity Services Engine) version 3.1
- Cisco WSAv (Web Security Appliance) version 12.0.1
- Cisco ESAv (Email Security Appliance) version 12.5.0
- Cisco ASAv (Adaptive Security Appliances) version 9.10.1
- Cisco FTDv (Firepower Threat Defense) version 6.3
- Cisco FMCv (Firepower ManagmentCenter) version 6.3
- Cisco FTDv (Firepower Threat Defense) version 7.0

EVE-NG VM No. 2 doesn't have pre-built Labs, but includes newer versions of the virtual devices provided in EVE-NG No.1

It includes some non-Cisco devices like Fortinet Fortigate and CheckPoint Firewalls:

- Cisco ASAv (Adaptive Security Appliances) versions 9.18.2 and 9.20.2

- CheckPoint Firewall (Gaia) version R81.10 (other versions available as well)

Additional VM's:

The VM's listed for EVE-NG No. 2 doesn't include an ISE VM, as embedding ISE would reduce performance. For this reason we deploy an ISE Engine as a separate VM

This approach is more efficient, as running ISE separately from EVE-NG improves performance

The same thing can be said about the Windows Server, which is also provided as separate VM

The Ubuntu Server instead is provided in both forms, as an independent VM and also
embedded in the EVE-NG Simulator.

All VM's (EVE-NG, ISE and Windows Server) can still communicate with each other though.

We include instructions explaining how to make the VMs communicate with each other.

Please note that this Lab also includes a CML-2 VM with a Free License for up to 5 Nodes!

Therefore, you can start using CML-2 for trial simulations of up to 5 Nodes without a License.

However, to build a Lab with more than 5 nodes, you'll need to buy a License from Cisco.
